New beginnings are always exciting

To take from the top. I’m not a blogger, and my intent was never to become one. I feel that we already have an oversaturation of motivational, technical, and training content out there, and adding one more website to that list is not going to make the world a better place. Nor is it going to make you a better marathon runner.

But it might make me one? I don’t know, we’ll just have to see. Right now I still don’t have a full concept of what I’m trying to achieve here, except to keep myself accountable for the goal that I’ve set – and that’s running a sub-3-hour marathon in the next few years.

Did you notice I said few? There is not even a definite timeline on my hands and that’s ok, it’s something that I’m learning to live with. As a husband, father of two (one of which is only 2 months old), and a business owner, I’m dedicated not to place a due date or a hard deadline on this one. It’s a process and I should learn to embrace it as such. It’s a marathon, not a sprint – literally.

Hard goals, but no definite timelines, is that doable?

Today I’ve started a new base building block, aiming to prepare for the Alexander the Great Marathon in Thessaloniki, held on April 30th next year. I do have some hard and soft goals for that one, but I’ll leave that for another post. Got to keep those cliffhangers going, right?

So the question is – can you go from zero fitness to a hero ( whatever the hero would be in this context) in a matter of few months? Gosh, I sure hope so. But even if I don’t, I’m committed to sharing my thoughts here, throughout the process. And I guarantee its going to be a fun ride.
